Stress Reduction Technique One: Deep Breathing
Deep breathing has been found to have amazing health benefits, as well as shown to decrease the effects of stress dramatically.
Deep breathing can lower your heart rate, reduce tension, clear your mind, and eliminate anxiety and fear.
Start by finding a quiet pace to sit. Relax your body and feel it sink into the seat your sitting on.
Start with a large inhale through your nose. Allow the air to fill up your lungs, and expand your diaphragm.
This is also known as belly breathing.
Take another deep breath and this time put your hand on your stomach. Breath until you feel you hand be pushed out by your stomach.
Then exhale slowly, allowing the air to slowly seep out of your mouth, as if you were exhaling through a straw.
Repeat this deep breathing over and over.
Stop the deep breathing when your body feels relaxed.
Stress Reduction Technique Two: Energy Waterfall
The art of visualizations has been shown to be very powerful in altering ones state of mind. You could be stressed one minute, do a quick visualization, and then be completely relaxed the second.
The reason visualizations work so well is because out minds can’t decipher the difference between what we see in front of us, verses what we see in our minds.
Our body will react the same to both. So if you visualize a sense of calm and peace, that is what state your body will go in to.
Start with putting yourself in a confortable position. Make sure you are sitting or lying down so you don’t fall when you close your eyes.
Once you’re ready, close your eyes. Take a few deeps breaths to start the relaxation process.
Visualize yourself walking down a path in a beautiful place in nature. You notice there are all your favorite things there. Maybe some towering redwood trees, maybe a beautiful twinkling steam.
Feel how good it feels to be in this place.
Now see yourself walking up to a beautiful glistening waterfall. This is an energy cleansing waterfall.
Go and stand under the waterfall and let the powerful cleansing water wash away all your stress. Feel the water pouring over you and see the stressful energy wash out of you and flow into the earth.
Feel how good it feels to be cleansed by the powerful force of nature.
No you can image the waterfall filling you up with powerful, strong, resilient energy. Energy that makes you feel wonderful and energized.
Do this until you feel complete.
When you are done you can walk away from the waterfall and open you eyes. Take a few more deep breaths and feel the revitalizing energy you are now filled with.

Practice deep breathing and visualizations everyday and you will start to feel stress melting away.
Try starting out doing them for 5 minutes once a day. Then increase to three times a day for maximum benefits.
The more you take time to do these exercises, they less stress you will feel overall. You will start to notice that your overall feelings of overwhelm, tension, and anxiety will start to diminish, and you will feel more relaxed and joyful.
